ABOUT THE OFFICE OF CITY CLERK

Your City Clerk holds no voting power in political matters, but exists to ensure checks and balances.

The Clerk’s primary responsibility is maintaining and organizing all city documents, posting public notices and meeting agendas, and providing documents through the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA).

The Clerk also updates the Code of Ordinance Book, secures Closed Bids for publicly funded projects, and much more.

While the Clerk's Office has been working to bring public records into the digital age, there is much more that can be done to make it user-friendly as well.

Libby understands the importance of networking. By connecting with other Illinois Municipal Clerks she intends to identify and implement the best practices for the greatest results.

Her technological expertise would ensure that goal. To streamline transparency and the availability of the common record, and to connect our citizens as a community.
